US Embassy in Manila temporarily closed PDF Print E-mail
WARDEN NOTICE
December 7, 2005

THE EMBASSY OF THE UNITED STATES IS TRANSMITTING THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION THROUGH THE EMBASSY WARDEN SYSTEM AS A PUBLIC SERVICE TO AMERICAN CITIZENS IN THE PHILIPPINES. PLEASE DISSEMINATE THIS MESSAGE TO ALL U.S. CITIZENS IN YOUR ORGANIZATION OR NEIGHBORHOOD. THANK YOU.

Statement: Resumption of U.S. Embassy Public Services

The American Embassy in Manila will resume all public services on December 8, to include visa and consular services, and services of the Social Security Administration and Veterans Affairs Regional Office.

The U.S. Embassy no longer perceives a plausible threat that would require closure of public services. Nevertheless, American citizens are urged to continue to observe vigilant personal security precautions, and to remain aware of the continued potential for terrorist attacks against Americans, U.S. or other Western interests in the Philippines.

For the latest security information, Americans living and traveling abroad should regularly monitor the Department's Bureau of Consular Affairs website at , where the current Worldwide Caution, Public Announcements and Travel Warnings can be found. Up-to-date information on security can also be obtained by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll free in the U.S. or, for callers outside the U.S. and Canada, a regular toll line at 1-202-501-444. These numbers are available from 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (except U.S. Holidays).
